Today on our 2013 Dodge Ram Pickup we'll be test fitting the Thule Gate Mate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack 62 inches wide for full size trucks, part number TH824. To begin our test fit we'll go ahead and drape the mat over our tailgate. This is where it may be helpful to have an extra set of hands. We'll bring the straps around the underside of our tailgate, feed the straps through our tightening brackets on the other side, and pull them tight. We want to make sure that the Thule logo is at the bottom of our mat on the passenger side. We can also flip open the pad here to gain access to our tailgate handle. more

Thule Gate Mate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack for Full-Size Trucks Installation- Video

Today were going to show you how to install the Thule Gate Mate 62-inch wide Truck Bed Bike Mat, part number TH824. Well be installing it on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 but the install should be almost identical on any full size pick-up. The first thing we need to do is clean the tailgate. We want to make sure that any dirt and debris are off the tailgate so that the pad doesnt rub it into the paint. With the tailgate cleaned well take our pad, open it up and lay it over the tailgate. We need to feed all the straps through the bottom of the tailgate and the gap in between the tailgate and the bed. more
